AMERICA'S CAREGIVER WELLBEING AUTHORITY
HELPING CAREGIVERS CARE WITHOUT LOSING THEMSELVES
MY STORY
I became a caregiver at fourteen years old.
After my father died, my mother became critically ill, and overnight I found myself caring for my family while trying to navigate life as a teenager.
That experience shaped the next 34 years of my life.
I built a career helping others as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, supporting patients, healthcare professionals, and caregivers through some of life's most difficult moments.
The problem was...
I became so good at caring for everyone else that I slowly stopped caring for myself.
Like so many caregivers, I believed caring meant carrying.
Until accumulated stress showed up in ways I couldn't ignore.
Debilitating migraines nearly cost me the career I loved.
That's when I discovered something that changed everything:
Stress isn't being managed. It's being stored.
And if stress is being stored, caregivers don't need another stress management tip.
They need to learn how to regulate stress before it overflows—and how to recognize what caring may already be costing them.
Because caring had not only affected my health. Over time, I had lost pieces of myself along the way.
That realization became the foundation of everything I teach today:
How to continue caring for others without losing yourself—and how to rebuild when caring has already cost you pieces of who you are.
MY MISSION
I believe no caregiver should have to sacrifice their health, joy, or identity to care for someone else.
That's why I created Stress SMARTER™—a practical, science-based approach that gives caregivers the skills and tools to protect their well-being while caring for others.
Through keynotes, workshops, books, and practical tools, I help caregivers regulate accumulated stress, recognize what caring may be costing them, and take intentional steps to protect—or rebuild—the parts of themselves that caregiving can push aside.
So they can continue caring for the people they love and serve without losing themselves—and rebuild their lives without caring less.
Because caring shouldn't cost you yourself.
WHAT AUDIENCES WALK AWAY WITH
My goal isn't simply to inspire people for an hour.
It's to give caregivers practical tools they'll still be using months later.
Every keynote combines science, storytelling, humor, and memorable tools...
- Recognize what caring and accumulated stress may be costing them.
- Protect their health, joy, and identity while continuing to care for others.
- Reconnect with the parts of themselves that caregiving may have pushed aside.
- Take practical steps toward a more intentional, fulfilling, and sustainable way of caring—and living.
Whether audiences are learning how to keep their superpower from becoming their kryptonite or how to rebuild when caring has already cost them pieces of themselves, they leave with more than inspiration.
They leave knowing what to do next.
